Summary
Buyer of electronic components. Analyze past buying
trends, sales records, price, and quality of merchandise
to determine value and yield. Select, order, and
authorize payment for merchandise according to
contractual agreements.
Essential Duties
and Responsibilities –

Choose
suppliers of a product or service; negotiate the
lowest price, and award purchase orders that ensure
that the correct amount of the product or service is
received at the appropriate time.

Evaluate suppliers on
the basis of price, quality, service support,
availability reliability, and selection.

Ensure
positive working relationships with existing and
future suppliers
- Acquire
materials, parts, machines, supplies, services, and
other inputs to the production of a final product.
- Follow-up on
purchase orders, accounting discrepancies, order
discrepancies, and RMA’s.
-
Place orders with existing suppliers, track shortages,
and investigate backorders using the MRP system.
No supervisory
responsibilities
Education
and/or Experience
-
Experience in Government procurement regulations is a
plus
-
Minimum of 2 to 3 years experience in purchasing
materials for a electronics manufacturing operation
using a MRP system
-
Experience purchasing bare boards and electronic parts
and knowledge of electronics suppliers is a must
-
Experience using a MRP System for purchasing and
scheduling
-
Must be proficient in use of Microsoft Excel, Word
-
Experience using Alliance Software
-
Negotiation, cost savings and supplier quality skills
Language
Skills
Proficient in speaking and writing English, ability to
read and comprehend simple to complex instructions,
correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple to
complex correspondence.
